The speaker at our January 2014 meeting will be John Gordon, a highly respected authority on the history of Kilsyth. John has spoken to the Society on a number of previous occasions, most notably on the Battle of Kilsyth, when he illustrated his talk with a range of appropriate weaponry!
As a school teacher John can usually engage his audience effectively without the need of any visual images. However, on this occasion he will be delivering an illustrated talk on the historical environment of Kilsyth entitled ‘Kilsyth around the Cross’. This was prepared specially for the 10th Anniversary celebrations of Croy Historical Society a year or two back, in which our Society participated.
